Lykke Wake

Working within the Art Department on a BFI-funded period short film, I assisted the Production Designer with prop making, sourcing and set dressing. I created handcrafted wooden props, period-accurate tools and kit, as well as a fake dead animal prop for use on set. Working from moodboards, sketches and historical references, I helped translate the Production Designer’s visuzal direction into the physical environment of the film. This involved researching period-appropriate objects and materials, selecting and positioning props, and dressing spaces to create a convincing sense of time and place.

I assisted with the practical preparation of props and set elements, including making, adapting, finishing and ageing pieces where required. Throughout the production, I worked closely with the Production Designer to maintain visual consistency and prepare the set and props for filming.
